Hope
(Cerri Lee)
Hope
danced and sang ahead of them.
Blithely she waved back at her two friends,
Who follow always in her wake.
Watching as she wends her merry way,
Showering her dreams and fancies upon all and sundry,
For a moment the two friends stop.
They see the enraptured faces of those touched by hope.
Then they turn to follow,
But she has gone, lost from view.
Sorrow bows her head and the tears fall,
While Despair sinks to his knees to howl his anguish.
Letting all creation feel their pain.
In a breath she is there, shining and glorious,
Then hand in hand they travel together,
Sorrow, Hope and Despair.
