Do I Love You?
(Cerri Lee)

Do I love you?
Yes I do!
You ask me to give my reasons, but I find none to offer
Do I trust you?
No is my reply,
Ask me if I want to trust you, and my answer would be different,
Will I ever be happy is the question now,
Oh, ask me another!
Who would not want to be happy?
Who would not love?
But who would trust without question in flawed man?
Only in the divine can I trust without need or proof,
Ah, but I can love,
For the heart can trust if the mind cannot,
The mind will torture and rend your emotions,
It will tear your truths limb from limb,
And in the darkness you will will hear a thousand words that have never been
spoken,
The heart will forgive all and ask for nothing,
For the heart has no eyes nor ears,
The heart will remember only the joy it first found in you,
The song it sang the first time you said I love you,
And for loves first kiss it will give it¹s all.
My heart is why I love you still,
For the joy of love first given can never be diminished in the realm of the
heart.
Will I trust you?
Listen to your heart and if it sings the same song as mine, then love will
conjure the mind.
